The Book Thieves
We are a lively group of bibliophiles who enjoy eating, drinking (21+) and, most importantly, talking about books together. We are about as relaxed a group as they come, so don’t be intimidated. You are welcome to drop in to chat about a book that especially interests you, or join us for the whole season!
We read eight books per year, and meet for round table discussions from 6:30 – 7:30 pm on the first Thursday of the following months: February, March, May, June, August, September, November, December. We also meet in October to select our slate of books for the upcoming year. We read a mixture of fiction and nonfiction, with a goal of reading a diverse group of books each year (style, author, & genre).
We gather at Writers & Books on University Ave. Book Thieves are invited to bring a dish, snack, or drink to share, and of course, an enthusiasm for all things literary! Ampersand, Writers & Books’ indie bookstore, stocks the titles we choose, and makes them available at a 15% discount.
